I love the wintertime. Something about it is so magical, almost like the whole world changes into a winter wonderland. Outside is a snowy masterpiece that anyone can enjoy, and feel the cool breeze in the air. Although winter is so amazing, there is one other thing that comes with it, that we all don’t like as much.

Flu Season.

So, If your like how I was for the past few days, your probably in bed. You are also probably bored out of your mind. Surprisingly, there are quite a few ways to have fun while being sick. Being stuck in bed can lead to you discovering your new favorite activity!

First off, I would recommend reading. Reading is an incredible way to pass time without even realizing it. You can get lost in a good book anywhere you like, in bed, on the couch, or at the table. Reading also helps me get tired, so going through a few chapters before bed can stop you from tossing and turning at night.

Another idea is to do a puzzle. The lost art of puzzltry can be revived when you are ill. There are so many different puzzles, and you can easily find one you love. It is relaxing to snap the pieces together, slowly creating a work of art. I usually work on ones with 1000 pieces, because they are challenging enough to take me a few days, but not too hard where it is not fun. Drawing and coloring are great ways to keep entertained as well. When you draw you are using your imagination to its full extent, and there are endless creative ways to enjoy yourself. Coloring is relaxing and calming, and a great way to have fun.

And what else? Making cards is definitely fun too. You will have fun doing it, and at the same time you are making someone else smile. Just taking 15 minutes to work on a card can make someone’s day, and you can learn a lot about a friend or family member by exchanging letters through the mail. You can decorate cards however you like, and make them completely personalized for the recipient.

Making crafts is another good way to entertain yourself. It is a good idea to reuse old materials such as paper towel rolls, cardboard, egg cartons, and more to make works of art. All you need is a few materials and a big imagination, and the options are endless! You can find hundreds of project ideas online that can keep you busy for hours. Homemade crafts also make awesome gifts for family and friends!

So as you can see, there are a lot of fun things you could do to keep entertained when you are sick or stuck in the house. Stay tuned for my next post!
