I love the beach. There really aren’t many reasons not too. It’s pure enjoyment for kids as much as it is for adults, and there are so many different things you can do, that you will never get bored. You can build sand castles, ride the waves, throw around a frisbee, sit in the sun, collect seashells, and so much more.
Other than just being fun, it’s very calming to sit by the ocean. There’s the sound of the waves crashing and pulling back, and almost all calming music apps have that same sound. Grab a mystery novel and a smoothie, and you’ll be surprised how good you feel afterwards.
Other than it helping you mentally, the beach is really good for you physically. When you sit in the sun, even just for a for a few minutes, your body makes vitamin D, an important vitamin. You can make your daily amount in just 10 minutes! Sitting in the salt water is the same as taking a bath with Epsom salts, which can help soothe your joints and muscles. Swimming, walking, and running are some of the best ways to get exercise, and by being at the beach, your typically doing all of those.
If you are not a fan of the ocean, there is plenty you can do on land. Have a sand castle building contest, and if that gets too easy, go out of the box and build sand people in sand hotels! Sand and water can be used as all natural building clay, and there is so much you can do with just a shovel and a bucket!
And the best part is going to the beach can be whatever you want. You can spend the whole day having a party with your friends in the waves, or you can just take an hour by yourself to go for a walk. You can bring a volleyball net and a cooler, or you could just bring a notebook. Most beaches are free, so you can go as many times as you like. There aren’t time limits, so you can soak up the sun as long as you want.
Besides helping you in the present, it’s a great place to make memories. You can have some fun with your friends, or just look up to the clouds with your Dad. Spending a few hours with your kid, or bonding with your brother is a memory you’ll never forget.
So, if you have a sunny Saturday or an empty afternoon, make sometime to go to the beach and improve your life.
Good Post! I love going to the beach, and living in Florida means it is right next door! Even though we don’t go very often, when we do go it a nice break. My favorite time to go to the beach is when no one else is there so it is quiet, peaceful, and not crowded. Hearing the ocean, Boogie Boarding, and playing in the sand are my favorite things to do when we go to the beach. Going to the beach is a fun weekend activity for the whole family.
Great post! I love going to the Beach
