When are we going to give up?

Stop trying to kill.

When will there be a place,

Without murder, abortion, guns?

When will they look into the sky.

It could be rain, sun, snow.

And just think.

Clear your brain from the violence,

Clear your brain from the sadness,

Clear your brain from the pain.

And breathe air.

Air without the scents of bombs,

Noises of guns,

And feel without fire.

The match that was thrown on the ground long ago,

the first war.

Well, now we have wild fires.

But if we all carry a bucket of water,

And pour it on the fire,

piece by piece

the fire will go out.

So carry your bucket.

Fill it up.

However you can.

With compassion, kindness, sympathy.

And pour it on the fire.

And it is scientifically proven.

If there is enough water,

The fire will go out.

  1. AMELIE, YOUR POEM HAS TOUCHED MY HEART ,GOD HAS GIVEN MUCH WISDOM TO TOUCH HEARTS. I LOVE YOU NANA

  2. Hi Amelie. Your poem is just incredible. With the recent abortion bill passed I have been looking for information to put out on my Flocknotes here at the Churches. I would love to use this in a Flocknote but wouldn’t do without your permission. I could post your name or not, your decision and should you not want me to post your poem at all that is ok too. Please just let me know.

I am looking to make rosary chaplets for the unborn. Your bracelets might be a great idea for that too. They are beautiful.

We miss you, your sisters and family and all your smiling faces. I still say you were the best Altar Server and Smiler! Keep enjoying and writing. I will be following. Best to everyone.

God bless you in your works.

    Love
    Gloria

  3. Awesome! You are a very wise one. Keep writing and keep speaking, you’re making a change in this world. Reminds me of an old Chinese proverb, it goes like this, “give a man a fish and you will feed him for a day, but if you teach a man to fish you feed him for a lifetime”

  4. Ditto to what Pop-Pop,TC and Uncle Tommy said! I am speechless! You brought me to tears over here! Shine on and never stop carrying your bucket..LOVE.

  5. Great poem Ami! Love it. We all have to work together when stuff like this goes on in our selfish world. Your an amazing writer!❤️❤️

  6. Strong piece, Ami. Such an appropriate message for right now. We all need to be doing our part. I love your anthem: “carry your bucket!” Carrying a full bucket of water takes strength, calmness, and a slow, steady balance and pace. Running frantically with a full bucket of water is counterproductive. Fill and carry it- for me-means “get ready and stand.

I’ve got my bucket ready. I’m ready when you are.

  7. The world needs to hear your voice, Amelie. Your wisdom and exceptional gifting can only come from Above and is far beyond your tender years. God has a tremendous plan for your life. Thank God you are here to remind your generation that although it appears to be a very scary world, the Lord is still on His Throne and has given us the answers. The world may need to hear you, but it is just as important that today you encouraged THIS old soul.

    1. Thank you so much. Your words are what make me want to keep writing, and the way you describe my poems are incredible. Comments like yours are what keep encouraging me to write more. Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I am so glad you like my post!
